City High Hall of Fame & Jim Sangster Alumni of the Year Award
Induction into the Hall of Fame is an honor and a celebration. The City High Hall of Fame was initiated in 1979. Five inaugural members were inducted. As of 2024, there are 223 members. Originally, selections were determined by a committee of faculty and students. When the Alumni Association was created in 1998, the board began assisting with the Hall of Fame. The “Jim Sangster Alumni of the Year” award was created in honor of Jim Sangster who founded the City High Alumni Association.
Inductees can be distinguished alumni or honorary members. Nominees are judged in three areas:

- Achievements during their student career at City High
-
- Accomplishments since graduation
-
- Involvement and contributions made to City High
Nominees need not have excelled in all three areas. New members are inducted at an annual banquet dinner at City High where they are honored and presented with their plaque and given the opportunity to address the audience. New inductees are also invited to the Homecoming football game at Bates Field to be recognized in front of the fans.
Alumni are encouraged to submit nominations for the Hall of Fame.
